London Girls

London Girls

I find it quite hard to get hold of magazines in the UK which have the kind of style and content I personally enjoy. With that said, I have turned more to Japanese magazines - (despite the shocking truth that I speak no Japanese...) I think this is because they have such a unique way of putting outfits together and showing diverse styles.

Having been to Japan only once, I was able to see straight away what a forward thinking place it was in terms of clothing and style. No one judges what anyone else wears, each person is just doing their own thing, and I really think that attitude translates in many of their fashion and lifestyle magazines.

One of my favourite Japanese magazines is called Fudge.

I think what makes Fudge particularly special is how quirky it is. From the tongue and cheek quips in English, to the varying styles and the beautiful photoshoots, this magazine is more exciting to pick up than any I can get on my door step.

Recently the magazine did a 'World Snap' feature where they went around different cities and photographed a number of girls going about their day to day lives.

I was lucky enough to be one of those girls, and sit along side some women whose style I adore!

I thought I would give a run down on some of my favourite girls in the magazine, as well as alternative ideas on where to grab a similar look.

It's me! I'm wearing all Nigel Cabourn here. The pant is a men's mainline, made in Japan and features a two tone fabric - the front being a Japanese denim and the back a herringbone cotton. My shirt again is from the mainline Cabourn range and is an oxford cotton. Teamed with my Birkenstock sandals and neck scarf (in my hair) from Jantiques in Tokyo.

This girl is so cute. I don't normally like this style hat, but she pulls it off. The blue denims work so well with the while coverall and tee. Good for relaxed day time.

Love this look so much! Really simple colour palette of indigo blues and whites. Despite being quite a boyish look, the high waisted rise of the pants and the tighter top underneath add a feminine touch and bring this all together well.
